Faith Produces Obedience And Joy

When someone puts his faith in Christ, Christ makes that someone into a new creature that wants to obey Him. He makes that someone*s heart AND actions new and different.

2 Corinthians 5:17: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Ephesians 2:10: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

James 2:14, 17, 18: What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? . . . 17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

Hebrews 5:8-9: Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; 9 And being made perfect, he (Jesus) became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

Luke 6:46: And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

Romans 6:13: Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Romans 6:19b: . . . as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

Some of us will be given a few good works to do and others will be given a multitude of good works to do. If we are faithful and obedient in a few He will give us more. If we do a couple of good works per day we will have joy a couple of times a day. If we do dozens of good works per day we will have joy dozens of times a day.

Luke 19:17: And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.

I*m glad the passage says in a very little. Sometimes I can*t even be faithful in a little. More often I can be faithful in a very little.
